Kicked off in 2013, GACC Automotive Forum is our annual event series discussing current trends in the Automotive Industry.
Urban mobility - How our city's transportation landscape will be disrupted
Urbanization and disruptive technologies are transforming the mobility landscape. Generational shifts are obviously a key contributing factor, with millennials looking to forgo personal vehicle ownership in favor of transportation as a service. Car manufacturers, startups and policymakers are collaborating to re-define the role of cars in our cities. Cars will need to be more intelligent, connected and sustainable. Success in this future marketplace will require an entirely new way of thinking. However, the new approach to mobility will not take place immediately and will not be universally implemented. Instead, it will roll out on a metro market-by-market basis in so-called "islands of autonomy". Our panel of experts will discuss where New York stands in this process and what path the city will take to achieve its goal.
